Footprints from an adult black bear not far from my home.

Front paw.

Rear paw.

I think I saw this bruin a few weeks ago here: Alder Creek Trail

Not a large one but still big enough to be on its own. Bears are very reclusive so it is unusual to see one in the wild. It is very important that we do not feed them. They will become habituated to people – as they are around dumps, park campgrounds and many communities that are in bear territory. A fed bear often becomes a dead bear.

And then this happens.

The people are morons for treating this so lightly. They could have been its next snack. I would have been all over that bear with spray.  These bears cause damage and often end up dead.
