There’s been pruning, potting, and baring all for National Nude Gardening Day.

Since this is in the southern hemisphere and the seasons are opposite, they celebrate on their Labour Day, the 28th of October. In the north, our Nude Gardening Day is on the first Saturday in May. Both fall under the larger celebration of World Naked Gardening Day.

Everyone needs something to look forward to. Even if it is something that seems silly or absurd to other people. This is the beginning of the naked season for me, daytime highs between the mid-60s and 90 F, foliage greening, and flowers blooming. And this year I may have both the time and resources to enjoy it. I’ve posted a couple of hikes already and expect to do a lot more. This Saturday is a trip to Deep Creek, a place I’ve been to many times before.

Next weekend on April 22nd, I’ll have my 65th birthday. I feel so fucking old when I write that! It is also Earth Day and the peak of the Lyrids meteor shower. On the 23rd, I’ll be getting my 2nd Moderna COVID Vaccination, so I will finally be free!

Spring is the time for the rebirth of optimism, right?

Soon after the shot, I’m celebrating with the Bare Burro 5K race and the Naked Beer Mile, out at Olive Dell – spending the weekend for one of my few visits to an organized club. Birthdays should always be celebrated in one’s birthday suit! I have plans for more hikes in areas I’ve never visited and I’m going to take up sailing lessons. Nude, of course!

Expect to be seeing a lot more of me. (Pun intended!) And no apologies for my nakedness. But if you don’t like nudity, please take heed of the NSFW warning such posts have.
