We have a mourning dove nest on a shelf in our open patio.

A while ago I noticed this mourning dove nesting in a basket on a shelf under the awning behind our house. For weeks she did not seem to move, nor did I see any male bird bringing her food. He must have been very cautious about when he visited the nest. I put out some seed nearby but they have ignored it so far.
Yesterday she left the nest for the first time so I took a picture of what was in it. Two growing chicks! Now she is spending lots of time away from the nest. She and her mate hang out a lot on the electrical lines behind the house. Mourning doves are very common around here.

And here is the call of the mourning dove. (Yes it is mourning and not morning. Someone thought it sounded really sad.)
